Position Overview:
The position in Trust & Security Services IT (TSS IT) department, Web Presentation team, Moscow, Russia.

Web Presentation team is a newly formed department aiming to deliver fast and quality Web FrontEnd solutions to different business lines within Global Transaction Banking. For a department which needs a fast and quality web interface, the team requests to fill-in the requirements template, creates a fast mock-up interface for approval and then deliver final interface for UAT start. The FrontEnd layer communicates to functional layer via Web services provided by the client. The development and coding is done on vendor side with Project Management responsibilities on Deutsche Bank side.

Role Description:

A person at this position will be responsible for overall delivery stream from Web Presentation department. It will include gathering and defining the requirements, planning the project lifecycle deployment, defining and scheduling resources, risk mitigation throughout the project, budgeting, identification and then resolution of different project issues, designing and maintaining technical and project documentation.


Requirements:
Experience/Background:
IT academic background in one of the major Russian institutions;
Project management or delivery management experience (2+ years). Good understanding of different project management methodologies and its applicability. Experience running the projects from design and development to production.
Experience in managing remote development groups

Personal Characteristics:

Good interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively with team members, peers and seniors

Role Description: Interface with application owners and infrastructure groups to manage wide-scale infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities: Interact with the IES and Application teams to ensure large/complex projects are on track. Escalate any issues with the projects. Review existing server assets and propose consolidations/virtualisations/decommissioning.



Background

The GBS&F IT business unit falls within the GTO Investment Banking IT division of Deutsche Bank and at it’s core is an application development and support organisation. GBS&F IT manage a portfolio of over 1000 applications from low level non critical core functions to large scale enterprise applications supporting the Front Office functions within the Investment Banking arm of DB

Overall Purpose of the Role:

As an Infrastructure Projects Manager you will be in charge of projects for the infrastructure landscape for the whole of GBS&F IT. This includes analysing project scope, translating them into required hardware changes, coordinating changes with the application owners and facilitating the changes with the help of the Information Enterprise Services support groups.

Specific Scope
Project Management of IT infrastructure projects - liaising with the various applications and IES teams and documenting key tasks and milestones.
Develop a strategy and corresponding plan of what hardware should be purchased in light of business requirements, providing the most effective use of resource and funds.
Optimise infrastructure designs to reduce cost.
Review the purchase of new hardware to ensure the most efficient use of resources.
Review existing hardware assets and propose cost saving and consolidation options
Tracking and progressing Technology Roadmap compliance where appropriate ensuring conformity to this policy
Initiating and managing the delivery of various initiatives to CIO business areas.


Experience/Background:
Project Management: needs to be able to formulate and monitor projects for complex hardware/software migrations
Broad technical experience: understanding of the concepts of Solaris, Linux, Windows, Oracle, Sybase, Networks, Storage
Experience with Financial matters, e.g. formulating business proposals, calculating cost reductions + TCO impact for complex hardware/software setups
Interpersonal: needs to relate with project managers, but also senior management, as well as with technical engineers and support staff

Business Description

The RiskEngine team within Risk IT are responsible for calculation and reporting of Risk and P&L data across a wide range of businesses, predominantly Rates, Credit and EM, currently expanding to include Equities amongst others. Our clients include the Front Office who require the valuations to exploit trading opportunities, Transaction Management Group requiring detailed reports about the positions being traded on a daily basis and downstream groups within our company who need the data for client and regulatory reporting, internal risk management etc.
The team are organised within Front Office IT and operate in a very client focussed environment. We are required to react rapidly to business requirements for new functionality from our varied clients whilst maintaining global consistency and stability of the application. This leads to a rewarding balance of short projects rapidly delivering business benefit and longer term strategic development projects. The overall team has recently made several new hires which has introduced a strong culture of innovation and discussion around new technologies, overall architecture and technology direction.



Position Description


Some of the key core components of the system are written in C++. Specifically a UNIX based ReportServer and an EXCEL Addin. Much of the functionality is delivered via these 2 main components. The ReportServer provides a high-performance in-memory database and calculates some derived risk data and P&L.
There are also many and various web applications using java servlets and JSP technologies. We also provide a .NET desktop application ( to replace EXCEL ) for many users which hides much of the complexity of our underlying server-based architecture. So we are required to have an eclectic mix of technology skills.
We are looking for a strong developer in C++ with a strong knowledge of Object Oriented programming with proved knowledge developing miltithreaded applications.
Daily duties will include:
- Analysis of existing software, requests for change. Design solutions.
- Development of solutions and delivery into production.
- Peer reviews of work with other team members.
- SL3/4 support of existing applications and provision of timely responses to both direct users and downstream systems. This includes Level 3 production support.
- Involvement with the definition of the future strategic technology solution for Risk and P+L systems

Excellent communication skills are critical for this role, including the ability to explain complex technical issues in an easily understandable way to management and clients and to interact directly with demanding business users.


Job Requirements

Essential Technical Skills:
• Strong C++ developer –Including multithreaded apps, STL containers and STL algorithms.

Position Description

RiskEngine is a massively distributed Risk & PnL calculation system running on several thousand CPUs in 5 global locations. The London instance calculates over 120 million valuations per night. Major challenges include continued adoption of new businesses and financial products, maintenance and improvement of performance with ever increasing volumes and ensuring optimal usage of available resources. Hence strong programming skills are essential.

The application is currently undergoing transformation to provide an intraday risk solution and evolve towards a future architecture which will allow a new joiner to show their expertise. 2009/10 will involve considerable replacement / re-engineering of existing components using new technologies so wide technology exposure is a strong advantage. RiskEngine is one of the key strategic valuation platforms for DB and therefore several businesses are also expected to migrate onto RiskEngine during 09/10 leading to further opportunities.

The position is for a strong Oracle database developer working on the RiskEngine and related applications. The role will predominantly involve database development and management. This role will involve:
• New business adoption
• Delivery of new features and enhancements
• Proactive stability and capacity work
• Managing global database releases and liaising with IES counterparts

We are looking for a candidate who has got a strong technical background and willing to take the role of a senior developer with the responsibility of delivering to the Rates Front Office desk.



Skill Set and Experience


• Technical
- Expert in Microsoft C#.net. (5 years plus, development experience)
- Strong in design patterns and n-tier development, dependency injection.
- Experience of CAL and WPF highly preferable. If not experience of WinForms is a must.
- Experience of the full project lifecycle, including gathering requirements, design, development, testing and roll out.

- Good understanding of interest rate derivative products particularly risk management.
- Must have good analytical aptitude and mathematical skills.
