Key skills are java/c++ on unix/linux

“We could need 2 lead-and-analyst type of team members. In principle this type of person is a joker and can normally also take any other role that the project would require. Therefore more of them would be a real plus, but they won't be happy for a long time doing detail development work.
We would need 2 front-end-developer type of team members.
We would need 2 back-end-developer type of team members.
We would need at least one xml-document-engineer type of team member.

From my experience in Germany the contract development work must not be underestimated! Two persons with that skill set would most likely be even better in the long run.

We would need 3 production-support-engineer type of team members.

Production support for us is not an administrator. It is in fact a developer who has at the same time background knowledge in system, database and network administration. The persons that will be production support will help us also in the development of the toolset (Java, perl, bash) around the main system.”

Some selling points:

- has the opportunity to influence the project and give it his own "mark", because he will be part from the beginning

- work in a nice atmosphere (new office building) in the downtown of kiev (parking place may be possible)

- will touch a lot of technologies and will be responsible for several aspects of the project, not only coding, e.g.:

- technologies : Java, J2EE, CORBA, C++, Oracle PL/SQL, Linux

- functions : analyst, architect, designer, developer, process engineer, quality engineer, test engineer, ...

-> we do not have a top down structure and we do not have specialization

on horizontal technological layers. we work in what i call "vertical slices". a single developer will get one business request and will have to deal with all aspects of that request starting from the requirements analysis down to the implementation of the fields in the database. this is a lot to learn and good people need at least a year to master the complete technology stack. in my experience talented people like this way of working, where they can also influence decisions and not only have to implement.

- we are working on powerful linux workstations with 24'' screens and have more than 2MBit network access.

- we are integrated into a business unit and have close contacts to our users”

Salaries from $2500 - $3500 depending on experience
