EPAM Systems (www.epam.com), one of the largest Software Engineering Services Companies in European IT market, CMMI Level 4 certified, is looking for Java Developer for its Kyiv Office.

Project description:
World-leading investment bank seeks a Java Professional to join the team which develops mission-critical high-load backend application.
The application is a large custom distributed in-memory cache database which provides fast and consistent access to the data from a legacy system.
The cached items include a large volume of static data used by numerous applications (about 50 client applications) throughout the bank infrastructure which support business processes of Foreign Exchange workflow. There is also the business logic layer built on top of the standard caches.
Non-functional requirements are very strict: any response within 5 ms range out of 20 GB data.
Close communication with the customer (English-spoken).

Technologies used:
• J2SE 6.0, multithreading (including java.util.concurrent), Collections, Garbage Collection, Profiling
• JMS (IBM MQ, Tibco EMS),
• XML, HTTP, JUnit, EasyMock,
• SQL (Sybase),
• Design Patterns, UML

Responsibilities:
- design
- writing documentation
- new feature implementation
- fine tuning of performance and memory consumption
- code reviews
- production support

Main requirements:
• 2+ years’ experience in Java programming
• Solid understanding of application design
• Experience with building highly-loaded and highly-available systems
• Experience using Spring, Hibernate
• Experience with software development lifecycle (SDLC)

Soft skills:
- Good spoken and written English
- Strong team-work focus
- Proactive and fast learner
