Development Vendor Manager
Position Overview:
Moscow TMG IT TPM team is looking for a Development Vendor Manager.
TMG IT looks after the trade processing of derivative transactions. The submission of these trades to the banks books and records and intra-day risk systems is a vital part of the overall process and is required to allow the traders to trade these products. As a result the TPM system is listed as a critical app within the bank and as a result must be well tested.
TPM is a a loosely coupled service orientated and workflow-centric integration middleware processing notifications on trade events from several OTC Drivatives markets and routing the information between internal and external systems.
Role Description:
The Development Vendor Manager is responsible for the overall management of software application development processes held by vendor development team, development environment management and support. The Development Vendor Manager manages creation of working plans, technical design, implementation and development testing. The Development Vendor Manager works with a virtual or physical team of developers and participates in the identification, development, creation and improvement of the functional and technical development processes, framework and infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
Development Vendor Manager:
• Creates and executes project work plans and revises as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements.
• Identifies resources needed and assigns individual responsibilities.
• Manages day-to-day operational aspects of a project and scope when needed.
• Reviews deliverables prepared by team before passing to client.
• Effectively applies our methodology and enforces project standards.
• Prepares for engagement reviews and quality assurance procedures.
• Minimizes our exposure and risk on project.
• Ensures project documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately.
• Tracks and reports budget utilization in terms of team hours and expenses on a weekly basis.
Requirements:
Experience/Background:
• 8+ years experience in software development, testing and support
Personal Characteristics:
• Enthusiastic about financial software development and people management
• Balanced sociability (listening/speaking)
• Result-oriented and client-focused world-view
• Proactive in problems-solving
• Ready to travel
Skills Required:
• Good spoken and written English
• Experience with large geographically distributed organizations
• 3+ years experience in software development management
• Organizational skills and ability to manage 10+ teams effectiveley
• Ability to manage priorities and keep focused on the critical ones
• Experience with client and vendor management
• Experience in software development processes, models, lifecycles and methodologies
• Understanding of software architecture design principles
• Experience with distributed architectures and SOA
• Experience with change management
• Experience with application execution infrastructure
• Experience with application development and multi-platform architectures
• Experience with database/data warehousing
• XML/XPath knowledge
• Experience with Java technologies
