Senior Statistical Analyze Expert (Cisco & Mirantis)

Mirantis/Grid Dynamics is looking for Senior Statistical Analyze Expert for our Cisco Centre. This senior expert will work with the Cisco Chief Development Office and engineering managers to improve the quality of the Cisco software engineering processes.The project has visibility to Cisco’s senior executive team.


Business Goal:
help Cisco’s software engineering groups close the gap between the ‘average quality’ product and the ‘best-in-class’ product.

over time create advanced models connecting industry trends to Cisco’s internal processes and metrics thereby helping engineering managers raise the perception and quality of Cisco products

Key activities:
work with senior Cisco staff to understand the business requirements, software engineering processes, quality metrics and data sources across Cisco’s major product lines

build statistical models which link Customer Satisfaction Data with Software Engineering Metrics

implement these models in statistical analysis and related tools such as SAS, JUMP, Minitab or JMP

determine logical levers (a process action which can improve software reliability) which have the strongest influence on customer satisfaction

work with Cisco staff to prepare executive-level presentations

Required skills and experience:
relevant degree in statistical modeling and analysis

strong practical experience creating statistical models in a large business environment (time series analysis, regression, etc)

a successful track record implementing and fine-tuning statistical models

hands-on experience with SAS or similar statistical analysis tools

ability to work with a broad range data sources some of which may generate incomplete data

ability to extract the required data using the available tools (UNIX shell scripts, scripting languages), process it (SQL, Excel), and present (Powerpoint)

ability to work with experts from different disciplines: engineering, customer service, marketing

excellent verbal and written English communication skills

very bright, fast learner
